Three trophies retained at Henley Royal
For the third year in a row, Thames brought home three Henley Royal Regatta trophies, finishing off a strong year in style.
The Britannia Challenge Cup victory means Thames is the first club in the history of the event to win three times in a row. The club has now won this trophy four times in the past six regattas.
Thames also retained the Wargrave Challenge Cup for the third year running, and had two crews in the semi-finals and four in the draw for a second year in a row.
The club added the Thames Challenge Cup for the sixth time in nine regattas, and the 16th time in history, after a campaign that saw the crew pull back an 11-second deficit on season favourites London Rowing Club at Marlow Regatta to beat them in the Henley semi-finals, before defeating Dutch club De Hoop in the final for the second year running.
Congratulations also to our Wyfold Challenge Cup A crew, and Freya Keto and her Oxford Brookes University doubles partner Jenny Bates in the Stonor Challenge Cup, for reaching their respective finals.
Thames qualified 98 athletes in 19 crews at HRR in 2024, across women’s club and open and men’s club, intermediate and open events. Click here to join us for the 2024/25 season.
