Many Met medals

After a week of hard training on camp in Spain, the Thames squads returned to the UK and headed to Dorney for what turned out to be a very successful weekend at Metropolitan Regatta.

Nearly 40 crews raced across the weekend, and the club came home with wins in 10 events over Saturday and Sunday.

On Saturday, the men won championship 4-, and finished second in championship and club 8s. The women added wins in club 8s and championship 2-, with second place in championship 8s and championship and club 4-.

On Sunday, the women managed a clean sweep of all the championship and club sweep events entered - 8s, 4- and 2-, with third place in championship 2- for good measure. The men upgraded to a win in club 8s, and won championship 4+ too, along with second in championship 8s, championship and club 4-s, and championship 4+.

Henley Women’s Regatta, Marlow Regatta and Henley Royal Regatta are now fast-approaching and the crews are training hard in an aim to continue the strong run of form.
