Launch driving certificate

Driving a launch is obviously a little bit different to steering a rowing boat, so we have a separate TRC Launch Driving Certificate. The structure is quite similar to the Tideway Steering Certificate, but with the practical aspects focusing on your launch driving skills. The table below shows what conditions you can go out in, and what level of supervision you need. More detail about each level can be found underneath the table.

Don’t forget that you also need to join the club, which includes reading, understanding and signing the safety induction document for coaches, and we also recommend that you have current British Rowing membership to give you third-party insurance while you coach.
