Join Thames Rowing Club

Moving to London? Looking for a new challenge or wanting to step up your rowing? Come and join Thames for the 2017/18 season. We’re looking for committed, keen athletes who want to achieve at the highest level of club rowing and maybe progress further.

In the past year we have won pennants, trophies and medals at senior, intermediate, novice, junior and masters level, culminating in two wins at Henley Women’s Regatta and the Thames Challenge Cup at Henley Royal Regatta. These wins include the Bremont Watches Award at HWR for the best performance by a small boat, and bring the number of HWR and HRR trophies in the past three years to three at each of these prestigious regattas. At HRR 2017 the Thames Cup final was Thames A vs Thames B, our Wyfold and Britannia crews made the semi-finals, and we qualified two women’s boats in the new open events.

We can offer members a professional coaching team led by Ben Lewis, one of the best fleets of boats and some of the best facilities of any rowing club in the country. In return we ask that our rowers and coxes turn up, train hard and have fun!

If you’re new to the sport you are equally welcome. We ask that our novice squad commit to training on two evenings and both weekend mornings each week. In return, we will get you fit, teach you to row and how to win races, all in a sociable atmosphere. If you’ve rowed a little before and have no British Rowing points you are also extremely welcome to join the novices.

For experienced rowers:

Training will begin on Saturday 2 September and there will be a start of season meeting and BBQ at 7pm on Wednesday 30 August. For any queries, please contact us:
